Today I went to the library. I walked in and it smelled like stress. Stress and cramming and late nights and flashcards.
But, I didn’t stay. I didn’t sit even though I need to work on my research paper and study for the GRE. Instead, I waltzed over to the movie section and perused. Slowly. If I ever get a movie during the school year, I feel awkward and rushed. But today there was no one at the library so the movie section was all mine.
I got several movies, including Pride & Prejudice, The Bucket List, and Dear John. I only made it through the D’s (and grabbed Pride & Prejudice because I saw a preview for it before watching Prime last night and have craved it ever since) but I glanced at the TV series and…
It was amazing. Unreal. Unbelievable. They had all the seasons of Gossip Girl, The OC, Grey’s Anatomy… You name it. I think I’ve found the answer to my upcoming week alone and the break to my GRE studying.
Curried Chickpea Salad
Adapted ever so slightly from A Couple Cooks
1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1 red apple, chopped
1/3 onion, chopped
1/4 c Craisins
3 tbsp plain non-fat yogurt
1/2 tbsp dijon mustard
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp curry powder
2 dashes cayenne pepper
1 tsp honey
Handful of walnuts
1. Combine chickpeas, apple, onion, Craisins, and walnuts.
2. Combine yogurt, mustard, lemon juice, curry powder, cayenne pepper and honey. Drizzle over salad.
3. Stir to mix.
