So, remember when I was learning to love wine back in December?
Well, now that I have 3 bottles of red wine, and no one to drink them with, I think it’s time to learn to cook with red wine.
I have only ever used red wine when making the black bean burgers, so I tried it with these burgers. Let me just tell you, it was a super success.
Now I’m totally addicted and want to learn how to cook lots of things with red wine. But. I don’t know where to start.
Looks like I have a new task to do. Not only love red wine but learn how to use it efficiently if it is in excess.
Who needs to study for biomechanics when you can make granola and cook with red wine? Pssh. Education.
From 101 Cookbooks
1 1/2 c cooked lentils
1/2 onion, finely chopped
1/2 c bread crumbs
1 tbsp olive oil
1. Combine lentils and eggs and blend until has the consistency of a thick hummus. All the lentils may not be completely pulverized, but that’s okay.
2. Pour into a bowl and add onion and bread crumbs. Combine and let sit a couple minutes to allow moisture to absorb into bread crumbs.
3. Form patties.
4. Heat oil in skillet over medium heat and cook 2 patties at a time. You can also use red wine. I did 2 patties with oil and 2 with wine.
5. Cook 5-10 minutes per side. Just kind of feel it out. Let’s be real, I know nothing about cooking burgers.
